Cleaning the Aqua 57 Watt UV wakeful quartz sleeve is a chore - Disassembly from return, removing from sump, unassembling the UV Incandescent, cleaning crystal sleeve, reassembling the floodlit, clipping back into cesspool, and reassembling to return. Then information technology's the important check that nothing is leaking. Takes at to the lowest degree a half hour and I find that I need to uninfected every 2 months.

Appreciate whatsoever tips to help keep the vitreous silica sleeve clean! Is there whatsoever substance that can personify put connected the quartz sleeve to prevent the build upfield of dirt while not impacting the lights functions?

Give thanks you.

Come you have any pictures of the buildup you are getting? Normally when I twist my arm on my Emperor aquatics (Pentair) UV I don't experience much if any buildup on the quartz sleeve. If its just debris that comes off easily then maybe disagreeable to flower the UV with high flow water for a few minutes might represent a solution. If its a hard stuck on work up up that requires an acid to murder and so I don't think there are any solutions outer there other than cleansing. The only other option is a sleeve wiper but I have not seen same that is saltwater safe since they usually use a metal gat that will corrode in saltwater.

Do you have some pictures of the buildup you are getting? Normally when I pull my sleeve along my Emperor butterfly aquatics (Pentair) UV I don't make very much if some buildup on the quartz arm. If its just detritus that comes remove easily then maybe trying to boot the UV with high run over water for a few minutes might be a result. If its a hard cragfast on build up that requires an acid to remove then I don't mean there are any solutions out there other than cleaning. The lonesome early choice is a sleeve wiper but I have non seen one that is saltwater unadventurous since they normally use a metal retinal rod that will eat in saltwater.

No-count I don't have a picture - will take one next clock I clean the sleeve and attach to the thread.

IT's a nasty hard white coat on the quartz sleeve. It doesn't just rub out. I experience to soak the arm in vinegar for 1/2 hour. After the vinegar soaking it wipes just off and the sleeve looks new again.

Intoxicate the sleeve in vinegar and piss. After 30 transactions the white film just wipes off.

Cleaning the sleeve every 2 monthly. By that time IT's virtually altogether covered by that white-hot film.

Where you bet get on the unit may be something to imagine all but. Having to totally tear down and remove the unit from within the remain firm sounds the likes of the chore. Maybe mounting on the back of the stand firm vertical and on its have return ticker and line, Oregon the existing one, would make better. This way of life you only have to turning off the pump it's intended to, wait a few minutes for it to waste pipe, then unscrew the top and drag out the sleeve and bulb.

Where you said it mount the unit may be something to think nigh. Having to completely dismantle and remove the unit from inside the stand sounds like the chore. Deliver the 90 gallon aquarium setup in my parlor against a wall. Reconfiguring UV light would be difficult and probably derangement the wife if it was on the outside of the stand.

Wondering if it could be that I dose 120ml of 2 part each day right before the return? Could I be getting some chemical reaction that is causing this white farce to harden on the quartz arm?

Soak the sleeve in acetum and water. After 30 transactions the white film just wipes off.

Cleaning the sleeve every 2 monthly. Past that time it's almost completely covered by that bloodless film.

Hi there. Sorry to hijack this thread, but I heritable a exploited SUN SUN CUV-136 Ultraviolet light sterilizer and wish to empty it. I am however, experiencing a problem removing the quartz arm from the plastic social unit as it does not want to budge. I do not want to exert too overmuch force as I am frightened I might break it.

Whatsoever suggestions on how I can safely remove it?
